is a function that can be added in which the radio operator
is able to hear themselves through either the radio's internal
speaker or an external speaker.

talkback issues.The
relay talkback is designed to solve the problems associated
with factory talkback. Factory talkback tends to fluctuate
in loudness for no apparent reason or may
be distorted. The factory talkback is also effected by the
use of an external amplifier in most cases. The relay talkback
is guaranteed to solve these problems.
This is
what Galaxy has to say about the factory talkback (taken word
for word from Galaxy's web site). Talkback can become distorted
if these radios have been 'peaked', and
there is no cure because the talkback
just amplifies what goes to the RF section.
We agree
that there is no cure if you only consider re-designing or
trying to repair there circuit. We don't agree with the (if
these radios have been "peaked" portion of there statement. We
have experienced the same talkback problems with stock (out
of the box) radios that have never been peaked. Our method of
correcting the problem involves disabling the factory talkback
and installing a different circuit type altogether. |
